The Novelty-Pull Capacity Audit

Paired worksheet. Saying Yes Until the Battery Blinks Red: AuDHD Overcommitment

This worksheet pairs with the Novelty Pull and Hidden Battery framework. It borrows the real-fuel-versus-junk-dopamine split from the Dopamine Inventory and points it at your commitments, so you can tell which yeses actually refuel you and which ones just spike and drop you lower. Then it helps you set your capacity limits while the gauge is still readable.

1Where does your genuine, steady energy actually come from?

List your real-fuel sources: movement, connection, making something, real rest. These refill the tank.

2Which of your recent yeses were real fuel, and which were junk dopamine?

Sort each commitment from the last month into the column it belongs in. Notice how many were the fast, spiky kind.

3What are your three capacity numbers, written on a calm day?

Max active clients or projects, new commitments allowed per month, and protected days with nothing on them.

4What is your twenty-four hour script for a new offer?

Write the exact words you will say so you never have to invent them while you are high on the new thing.

5Where will you put the gauge so it lives outside your body?

Name the calendar cap, the whiteboard count, and the one trusted person who can see your numbers.

Your next moves

  • Write your three capacity numbers down today, on paper, while you feel regulated.
  • Cap the bookable slots in your calendar at your pre-decided number.
  • Save your twenty-four hour delay script somewhere you can copy and paste it.
  • Add one real-fuel source back into this week before you add any new work.
  • Send your numbers to one trusted person and ask them to flag it when you drift.

What surfaced for you?

The last time you crashed, which yeses were real fuel, and which were just a fast hit that felt like fuel until the bill arrived?

You are not bad at boundaries. You are not flaky. You said yes with a brain that chases the new thing and a body that hides the cost until it is already paid. Set the limits while you can still read the gauge, and let them hold the line for the version of you who cannot.
