A way to set goals that bend with your capacity instead of collapsing into all-or-nothing shame.
Short definition
Floor, Flex, Stretch turns a single fixed goal into a range. The Floor is the smallest version that still counts as a win on your hardest day. The Flex range is the realistic middle. The Stretch is the high-capacity version. You aim at the range, not a single point, so a flare or a burnout dip does not turn the whole goal into a failure.
Where it sits
It is the goal-setting application of Good, Better, Best Days, extended from a single day to a goal that lives over weeks or months. It is built to survive burnout and capacity swings rather than assuming a flat line of effort.
The three bands
Floor. The non-negotiable minimum that keeps the goal alive on a bad day. Hitting the floor is success, not settling.
Flex range. The realistic band you live in most of the time. Anywhere inside it counts.
Stretch. Available when capacity is high, never the baseline you punish yourself against.
How to work with it
Define all three bands up front, while you are regulated, so a low day drops you to the floor instead of off a cliff. The full method is in the article.
