The Support Team: The ND Hive Framework for Designing Your Whole Support System

Stop running your whole nervous system through one tired person. Design support as a team with six seats.

Short definition

The Support Team treats your support as a set of distinct roles rather than one overloaded relationship. There are six seats: Clinical, Coaching, Co-regulation, Peer, Practical, and Anchor. Not every seat must be staffed, and most can be free or low cost. The point is to see them as separate so you stop pouring everything into one person and starving the rest.

Where it sits

It builds on the Co-regulation Spectrum and the distinction in coaching versus therapy. It is a relational-design framework: where most support advice names one helper, this maps the whole bench.

The six seats

Clinical (treatment, diagnosis, medication, crisis). Coaching (forward motion, pattern work, environment design). Co-regulation (borrowed steadiness, body doubling). Peer (people who share your wiring). Practical (hands-on help with life logistics). Anchor (the steady relationship that holds the whole picture).

How to work with it

Map who currently sits in each seat, find the empty seats and the overloaded ones, and make one move toward filling a gap. The fillable Support Team Map is in the article.
