The Three Recoveries

The Three Recoveries

Autistic burnout, ADHD burnout and perimenopausal fatigue feel the same from the inside. They do not separate by how tired you are. What separates them is the recovery each one takes.

Each has a recovery that works and at least one that does nothing at all. A quiet week off that gives real relief for a fortnight and then fades looks like ADHD burnout. The same week off that changes nothing looks like autistic burnout. Worst weeks and best weeks that do not track how hard the working has been look like the physiology.

Most of the women we see are running two at once, which is why one intervention keeps half working.

The Three Recoveries is not a validated instrument. It is a pattern, drawn from the research that exists and from what we watch happen in our rooms with the same women over months.
