Tool: The ND-Friendly Project Planning Board

Paired tool. Launching Offers and Projects When Time Blindness Is Real Framework: The Unreal Future, applied to launches Render via Worksheet Template v2 (printable + digital download)

What this tool is

A visual project board for a brain that cannot feel a future deadline. Standard project boards organize work by date. This one does not, because a time-blind brain cannot pace by date. It organizes work by what your brain can actually use: small finishable pieces, a pre-decided “done” line, and your current fuel level.

The board lives somewhere you will physically see it (printed on a wall, or pinned digitally) so the launch stops living only in your head, where it stays in the “not now” bin until the deadline drags it into “now” all at once.

One board per project or launch. Reuse it for the next one.

The concept (for the designer)

Three working columns, read left to right, plus a header strip and a footer strip. The flow is: a chunk starts in MICRO-CHUNKS, you confirm its MINIMUM VIABLE STEP (its “done” line), you place it under the ENERGY-CHECK band that matches the fuel it needs, and when finished it moves to a small DONE rail at the bottom. Visible progress is the point.

Keep it calm and uncluttered. ND Hive Warm Hive palette (paper #f7f4ef ground, teal #0f6e56 primary, gold #c89b3c accent), Comfortaa headings, Poppins body, one soft shadow. Generous white space. This is a focus surface, not a dashboard. No counters, no streaks, no red urgency colors.

Layout spec

Header strip (full width, top)

  • Project / launch name: ____________________
  • Real launch date: ____________________
  • One line, large, gold-accented: “This launch lives in ‘not now’ until I pull it into ‘now,’ one chunk at a time.”

Column 1: MICRO-CHUNKS

  • Column heading: Micro-Chunks
  • Sub-line (small, under heading): “The smallest thing I can finish in one sitting and see is done. If it feels foggy, it is too big. Cut it smaller.”
  • Body: a stack of 6 to 8 blank chunk cards (rounded rectangles), each with: – a write-in line for the chunk – a small checkbox on the left
  • Example placeholder text shown faintly in the first card: “Write three subject lines”

Column 2: MINIMUM VIABLE STEP

  • Column heading: Minimum Viable Step
  • Sub-line: “Decide what ‘done’ means before I start, so perfectionism can’t move the finish line. The version that ships and works, not the perfect one.”
  • Body: a stack of paired “done” cards that line up visually with the chunk cards in Column 1, each reading: – “This is done when: ____________________”
  • Example placeholder, faint: “The page is done when it loads and the button takes money.”

Column 3: ENERGY-CHECK

  • Column heading: Energy-Check
  • Sub-line: “I can’t pace by date. I can pace by fuel. Match the chunk to the tank I’m actually in.”
  • Body: three stacked fuel bands, each a labeled drop-zone where chunk cards get placed: – High focus (gold band): “Hard, creative work goes here.” – Low focus (teal-tint band): “Boring drag-and-drop work goes here.” – Empty (paper/grey band): “Rest, or one tiny win only. Don’t force a creative chunk here.”

“Manufacture Now” callout box (right rail or below Column 3)

  • Small boxed prompt, gold border: – “Next body doubling session: ____________________” – “The chunk I’ll do there: ____________________” – Micro-line: “Sitting with another regulated nervous system makes a ‘not now’ task feel like ‘now.’ That’s the point.”

DONE rail (footer strip, full width)

  • Heading: Shipped
  • A simple horizontal rail where finished chunk cards land. No count, no percentage. Just visible proof that pieces are done.
  • Footer micro-line, left: “On launch day, ship the minimum viable version. Fix the rest after.”

Footer (bottom edge)

  • ND Hive lockup + URL.
  • Small line: “ND Hive is coaching and community, not therapy or medical care.”
  • “Ā© Ralston Collective Holdings LLC. ndhive.com”

Printable vs digital notes (for the designer)

  • Printable version: one landscape page (US Letter and A4). Chunk cards and “done” cards are write-in lines. The Energy-Check bands are zones the user can tally a tick mark in or rewrite a chunk into. Keep ink-light (no heavy fills) so it prints cheaply.
  • Digital version: same three columns built as a drag-and-drop board (the chunk cards are the draggable objects; the Energy-Check bands and the Shipped rail are drop-zones). If a fillable PDF is the fastest path, the chunk cards and “done” cards become form fields and the Energy-Check stays as labeled write-in zones. A Notion/Trello-style board template is the ideal digital form if build budget allows; note this for the build queue.
  • Both versions carry the same header line, callout box, and footer.

Copy block: short intro for the download page or board top

Standard project boards are built for people who can feel time passing. If you can’t, they don’t work, and then you blame yourself. This board is built the other way around. It turns a far-off launch into a stack of small, finishable, fuel-matched pieces your brain can actually start, because they live in front of you instead of in a future you can’t feel. Decide “done” before you start. Match the work to your tank. Ship the real version on the date.

Start your 7-day free trial and bring your board into a body doubling session. Pull your launch into “now” with people who already know the map.

Build notes / flags for Danielle

  • Render via Worksheet Template v2 for the printable. The drag-and-drop digital version may need the design/build queue (Canva interactive or a Notion/Trello template), flagged here rather than assumed.
  • The three columns map exactly to the article’s three structures (micro-chunks / minimum viable step / energy-check) and to the worksheet’s Parts 3-5, so the article, worksheet, and board reinforce each other.
  • No counters, streaks, or urgency colors, per the coach-surface and overwhelm-reduction house rules (this is a focus surface, not a scoreboard).
  • Confirm whether the board download gets its own child URL under /hive/launching-with-time-blindness/ (e.g. /project-board/) so the article’s board link can repoint there.
