ND OutLoud episode. Recorded 2026-03-02. Watch above or read the full conversation below.
There are a million task manager apps, and most ADHD and AuDHD adults have tried half of them. In this short episode, recorded on the launch day of ND Hive, Danielle Ralston explains why another standalone app was never going to fix the problem. The missing piece is not a better list. It is action, and ADHD brains do not take action well in a bubble. We do well when we take action together.
Danielle walks through what she built instead: a hub where task management is tied to energy tracking, live body doubling, and coaches who are available in the moment you get stuck, not in a 30 minute session next Thursday. She explains her “good, better, best days” reframe (there are no bad days, and you can learn to have more of the good ones), why decision fatigue and RSD are the real reasons tasks pile up, and where the ta-da list came from, a running record of what you finished so your brain actually registers the win.
If you have a graveyard of abandoned productivity apps on your phone, this episode explains why that keeps happening and what a system built around connection, not willpower, looks like.
What you will hear
- Why a task manager on its own fails ADHD brains, and why tying tasks to body doubling and coaching changes the outcome.
- The “good, better, best days” energy framework: track your energy so you can match what you plan to what you can actually do that day.
- How decision fatigue, procrastination, and RSD are the real blockers behind an unfinished task list.
- Why in-the-moment coaching (available 10 plus hours a day) beats a single weekly 30 minute session for getting unstuck.
- The ta-da list: writing down what you finished, not just what is left, so completed tasks get celebrated instead of ignored.
- What founding members shape directly, from readability changes to feature requests, in monthly conversations with Danielle.

Launch day: what ND Hive actually is
Good morning, everybody. It’s launch day. I am so excited that this is finally here. This has been years in the making, years in the making, and I am so excited that we are finally out here in the world.
And what are we? We are ND Hive. You guys have heard that name for quite a while from me. ND Hive is a communication hub. It’s a get things done hub. It’s the learning our own patterns hub. It’s the hub of other neurodivergents just like you. It’s your space to find success hub.
Why is it that? Because it is an app. We have a desktop app, and it’s a desktop app for now, where we get things tested. We are in beta launch, so we want to do lots of testing. We want to, with our founding members, add, take things away, do whatever we need to do to build this with you. We are just like you, so we have a pretty good clue what’s going on and what we need. But what else do you need? What do you need to see? What do you wish was out there to make your life easier? Come tell me.
If you are one of our founding members, you get to have those conversations with me once a month. You get to say, “Hey, I don’t like this. Can you fix this for me?” Or, “Hey, I’m having a hard time reading this. Can you change this? Is there something that you could do to make this easier for my learning disability?” I want to know those things. I want to change those things. I want to build those things with you.
Why a task manager alone doesn’t work for ADHD
Right now, we have task management. We have energy management to help you recognize what your energy levels are. Because remember, there are no bad days. There are good, better, best days. And I will teach you how to have more good days and less bad days. I will show you how to track all of that so you can tie your energy to what you can get done every day.
We have a task manager, and yeah, there are a million task manager apps. But our task manager is tied to our community and to our coaches and to our group coaching and to our body doubling, so that you can put something in that task manager, come into body doubling, and get it done. We give you the space to get it done with other neurodivergents who get how hard it is, how much procrastination, how much RSD, how much decision fatigue.
What if we could remove your decision fatigue on all of the tasks you have to get done every day? That is possible in our hub, because we have 10 plus hours a day of co-working body doubling. We have 10 plus hours a day of coaches available in the moment when you need them. Not when you have a 30 minute session each week with your coach. In the moment when you need them.
Then we have a community where you can go if you don’t want to be on video and you don’t want to talk to people, but you have questions and want a coach to ask questions of. Go over to the community, create a post, and we’ll all answer. Well, maybe we won’t all answer, we don’t want to get you overwhelmed, but we have so many ways to help you create a much better day.
The ta-da list, and why action together beats another app
And then every one of those tasks that you get done because you’ve come into body doubling, we’re going to help you celebrate them. We have a ta-da list. That ta-da list is because one of my best friends, Marybeth, said during a training way back when I met her, “Oh, I just write everything in a ta-da list when I get it done, to make me feel better.” I was like, well, jeez, why haven’t I ever thought of that? So now we have a ta-da list, too.
The app is really multiple different app pieces all put together, bringing them all together and then giving you the space to take action. And action is the piece that we with ADHD really, really struggle with. We don’t do well in a bubble. We don’t do well on our own. We do well when we take action together. That’s what we’re creating for you: a hub for all of the things that you need. For communication, for task management, for energy management, for your emotional management, for celebrating all of the things we can get done. And then we’re going to celebrate with you as a community.
We have all kinds of trainings and resources coming. There are some in there already, but we’ve got all kinds of things coming, and I can’t wait to share it all with you. We are launched.
Founding membership, pricing, and the Disney trip
Okay, so how much is this, Danielle? I can’t afford anything. It is $19.99 a month with a 7-day free trial if you want to do that. If you want to become one of our lifetime members, it is a $250 one-time cost.
And you’re going to be like, “Hey Danielle, what’s with the Winnie the Pooh ears with the little bees on them?” It’s because our lifetime members, one of those 500 people, are going to be randomly drawn to go to our Disney trip with us in May. You still have to pay for your travel, but the Disney trip itself is free once you arrive on Disney property: your hotel room, all of the training that we’re doing there. We are doing a ton of neurodivergent training with professional certifications at the end of the training, all of your food, and all of the Disney rides. The fun, and the learning how to adapt Disney World to your everyday life, to your classrooms, to your therapy offices, to your business. We’re going to teach you how to do that in Disney.
So come join us. I look forward to seeing you. Have an amazing day, everybody. I’m going to try to pop in off and on today during launch day. Have a good one.
If this episode felt like recognition, there is a whole community built on it.
